【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesbasicengineeringdatathatmaybeusedtodeterminetheamountofVOCdeliveredtotheinletofaVOCcontroldevice.TheprocedureisusefulforestablishingthequantityofVOCthatisevolvedfromthecoatingintheflashzoneorbakeovenandavailabletobeincinerated,althoughthesameprocedurecanbefollowedwhenotherformsofVOCabatementareused.ThetotalamountofVOCremovedfromtheprocessbytheVOCcontroldeviceisafunctionoftheamountavailableasgivenbythistestmethodcombinedwiththeVOCremovalefficiencyofthecontroldevice.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationoftheamountofvolatileorganiccompound(VOC)releasedfromappliedwaterborneautomotivecoatingsthatisavailablefordeliverytoaVOCcontroldevice.ThedeterminationisaccomplishedbymeasuringtheweightlossofafreshlycoatedtestpanelsubjecttoevaporationordryingandbyanalysisoftheVOCorwatercontentinthecoating.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletotheVOCreleasedfromapplicationandbakingoperationsafterthepainthasbeenappliedinasimulationofaproductionprocess,orinanactualproductionfacility.1.3SymbolsandcalculationsfromseveralothermethodsthatdetermineVOC:PracticeD3960,EPA450/3-88-018andEPA450/3-84-019havebeenincorporatedintothistestmethod.Themajorityofsymbolsandcalculationsusedinthistestmethodareuniquebecausethistestmethoddealsuniquelywithdifferencesinweightofappliedpaintsamplesthathavebeensubjecttodrying,curingorsolventaddition.Note18212;Trainingandknowledgeoftheproductbeingevaluatedareessentialforobtainingmeaningfuldatafromthistestmethod.Itisrecommendedthatseveralpracticerunsbeperformed,andthelaboratoriesrepeatabilityevaluatedbeforeperformingthistestonthetestsamples.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityofwhoeverusesthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortoitsuse.
