【摘要】:Thistestsystemhasadvantagesincertainrespectsovertheuseofstaticloadingsystemsinthemeasurementofglassandglass-ceramics:Onlyminutestressesareappliedtothespecimen,thusminimizingthepossibilityoffracture.Theperiodoftimeduringwhichstressisappliedandremovedisoftheorderofhundredsofmicroseconds,makingitfeasibletoperformmeasurementsattemperatureswheredelayedelasticandcreepeffectsproceedonamuch-shortenedtimescale,asinthetransformationrangeofglass,forinstance.Thetestissuitablefordetectingwhetheramaterialmeetsspecifications,ifcognizanceisgiventooneimportantfact:glassandglass-ceramicmaterialsaresensitivetothermalhistory.Thereforethethermalhistoryofatestspecimenmustbeknownbeforethemodulicanbeconsideredintermsofspecifiedvalues.Materialspecificationsshouldincludeaspecificthermaltreatmentforalltestspecimens.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheelasticpropertiesofglassandglass-ceramicmaterials.Specimensofthesematerialspossessspecificmechanicalresonancefrequencieswhicharedefinedbytheelasticmoduli,density,andgeometryofthetestspecimen.Thereforetheelasticpropertiesofamaterialcanbecomputedifthegeometry,density,andmechanicalresonancefrequenciesofasuitabletestspecimenofthatmaterialcanbemeasured.Young''smodulusisdeterminedusingtheresonancefrequencyintheflexuralmodeofvibration.Theshearmodulus,ormodulusofrigidity,isfoundusingtorsionalresonancevibrations.Young''smodulusandshearmodulusareusedtocomputePoisson''sratio,thefactoroflateralcontraction.1.2Allglassandglass-ceramicmaterialsthatareelastic,homogeneous,andisotropicmaybetestedbythistestmethod.Thetestmethodisnotsatisfactoryforspecimensthathavecracksorvoidsthatrepresentinhomogeneitiesinthematerial;neitherisitsatisfactorywhenthesematerialscannotbepreparedinasuitablegeometry.Note18212;Elasticheremeansthatanapplicationofstresswithintheelasticlimitofthatmaterialmakingupthebodybeingstressedwillcauseaninstantaneousanduniformdeformation,whichwillceaseuponremovalofthestress,withthebodyreturninginstantlytoitsoriginalsizeandshapewithoutanenergyloss.Glassandglass-ceramicmaterialsconformtothisdefinitionwellenoughthatthistestismeaningful.Note28212;Isotropicmeansthattheelasticpropertiesarethesameinalldirectionsinthematerial.Glassisisotropicandglass-ceramicsareusuallysoonamacroscopicscale,becauseofrandomdistributionandorientationofcrystallites.1.3Acryogeniccabinetandhigh-temperaturefurnacearedescribedformeasuringtheelasticmoduliasafunctionoftemperaturefromx2212;195x00B0;Cto1200x00B0;C.1.4Modificationofthetestforuseinqualitycontrolispossible.Arangeofacceptableresonancefrequenciesisdeterminedforapiecewithaparticulargeometryanddensity.Anyspecimenwithafrequencyresponsefallingoutsidethisfrequencyrangeisrejected.Theactualmodulusofeachpieceneednotbedeterminedaslongasthelimitsoftheselectedfrequencyrangeareknowntoincludetheresonancefrequencythatthepiecemustpossessifitsgeometryanddensityarewithinspecifiedtolerances.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddress......
